Making Disciples of Christ by Being Disciples of Christ

Camp Lee

Located off of Choccolocco Road, Camp Lee is owned and operated by First United Methodist Church of Anniston.  It is governed by its own Board of Directors made up of members of FUMC Anniston.  Purchased in 1966, it currently consists of 382 acres and can house 255 campers.

Camp Lee Philosophy
The objective of Christian education where it takes place - in the home, in the church or in the out-of-doors - is that “all persons be aware of God through His self-disclosure, especially His redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ and that they respond in faith and love.”  Camp Lee is an extension of the Christian education program of our church in an outdoor setting.

Church camping offers a unique opportunity for the Christian growth of people: boys and girls, men and women.  The outdoor environment and the group living situation are the two distinctive elements in a camp program which provide opportunities for people to discover for themselves the way to live most usefully and happily with others, to come to an understanding of God and His relationship to the universe, and of His will for men as these are revealed in the life and teachings of Jesus.

The camp has been developed to provide a facility where those who seek Christ in an outdoor environment may do so, protected from the distractions of the urban community.
